post 2- What is a book?

A book is a story- no an adventure- a place where your imagination comes alive. In books anything could happen, you go places never before imagined, and you follow the characters on their voyage. It’s a journey something new around every corner and the more you read the more you discover in terms of your interests.

So in class we have been talking about these authors opinions on how e-readers don’t even compare to the all-powerful book……. But then there’s the other side where e-readers are the best thing ever and books are a thing of the past. To be completely honest I am totally indecisive on my feelings on the topic. I believe both sides of the debate have valid points and then again some extreme points. So first of all here is my opinion; the story is the same no matter whether it’s on an e-reader or a hardback.

You can get so lost and caught up in the story and you’re not paying attention to the physicality of the book. While I do prefer physical books I do read off of my ipad a lot, This is because its cheaper, easily accessed, and you can get it on the spot. Although I don’t know what it is but I like to have the physical copy of the book in my hand ……. Once you have bought and read your digital book its pretty much useless, but with a book you can loan it out, sell it, and you have many more uses after you've read it. So in my opinion well I prefer a hard back compared to an e-reader the story is all the same and there will be no difference in the satisfactory of the story in the end.
